Dave Thompson

Dave has an honours degree in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. Dave has had one real job in his life when he was a Money Market trader for Ontario Hydro. After 6 months of working for someone else, Dave pursued his dream of being self employed and started his first retail business.

Five stores later, Dave got involved in commercial real estate and built strip malls and apartment buildings. He has owned and operated 11 different corporations in fields as diverse as newspaper publishing to examining aerospace parts using a Neutron beam from a nuclear reactor.

In addition, Dave has had a very active public life. He was a municipal councilor for the Town of Deep River and was the youngest Reeve ever to be elected in Renfrew County's history. Dave has also served as a School Board trustee for the County of Renfrew.

A noted author, Dave has had over 200 columns published and is the co-author of the children's book, Through Imagination's Door. Dave is currently writing 50 of the Funniest Damn Stories You Have Ever Heard.

Dave's achievements were recently recognized when he was named as being one of the 40 top business people in the City of Ottawa under 40 years of age.

Despite his very hectic schedule, Dave's true passion in life are his sons, Jonathan and Nicholas.
